About
Two things, honestly
A fractional C-level practice for businesses past $1M, and a free directory of accountants that exists because we got tired of not having one to point people at.
Why the directory exists
Most people who arrive here searching for an accountant do not need a consultant. They need a competent bookkeeper or CPA, and the existing options for finding one rank on star ratings — which measure how a job felt, not whether the person doing it was licensed to do it.
So we built the thing we wanted to point people at. Every listing is checked against the IRS register of preparers holding an active PTIN, and where a recognised credential exists we say which one. Where it does not, we say that too.
The directory is free, has no accounts, and we do not sell placement in it. If a listing appears above another it is because it holds a verified credential and the other does not — never because someone paid.
What we refuse to publish
The numbers below are the argument. A directory that will publish anything is worth nothing, so here is our own rejection rate.
- Records imported
9,013
Businesses gathered from public sources and the previous site.
- Cleared the quality bar
5,776
Still operating, with an address, a phone, and either a website or opening hours.
- Excluded as closed or stale
529
Permanently closed, temporarily closed, or an ID Google no longer resolves.
- Published
4,844
Live on the site today, in the metros we have opened.
- Credential verified
2,121
Matched to the IRS register AND holding a recognised credential.
- Registered, no credential
581
Matched to an active PTIN record, holding none of those credentials.
Pipeline figures measured 2026-08-14. Published and verified counts are read live from the directory on every build.
What the seal does not mean
It means a credential was matched to a public record on a given date. It is not a recommendation, a quality rating, or a promise that a firm is right for you. We have never met most of the people in this directory.
It also does not mean an unsealed listing is disreputable. Plenty of excellent bookkeepers hold no CPA licence and need none for the work they do.How we verify sets out what each source can and cannot prove.
