Community Association Financial Services

Homeowner associations are the whole of the practice. The monthly cycle covers budgeting, accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations and financial statements for boards across the Coachella Valley and wider Southern California, with reserve building, expense forecasting and assessment management alongside it. Board members reach their figures through secure online portals, and escrow requests are handled separately from general enquiries.

The lineage runs to 1973, when Jody Allen founded Joanne M. Allen & Associates to do accounting for homeowner associations around Palm Springs. Doug and Lee Bothe bought the firm in 2005 and renamed it Community Association Financial Services in 2010. Lorena and Robert Sterling have since taken it over as chief financial officer and chief operating officer, and describe the firm as veteran-owned and female-managed. Helen Hernandez manages the office, Karen Fong handles accounts payable and Edith Howard is administrative clerk. A first consultation is offered at no charge.
