Trading as Tans Income Tax Service, the practice is a tax office about ten miles east of downtown Los Angeles, taking both appointments and walk-ins. Senior accountant Sophia Tan has prepared taxes for the community since 2002, and works in English, Vietnamese and Cambodian. Returns cover individuals, C and S corporations, LLCs and partnerships, with gift and estate tax also handled. Around that sits the routine back-office work a small business needs: bookkeeping, full payroll with quarterly and annual reports, W-2s and 1099s, and sales tax. New businesses can get help with start-up, licensing and financial statements. Two things sit outside the usual accounting range — assistance with IRS problems, and immigration services, offered from the same office.
