Gary Malkasian founded the firm in 1981 and still leads the accounting work; his son Glenn, an Enrolled Agent, handles personal and business tax matters, and Yessica Lopez, also an EA, prepares returns for individuals and businesses. A good deal of the work is remedial: years of unfiled returns, IRS and state notices, and Offers in Compromise negotiated on unpaid tax debt. The rest is individual and business return preparation, year-round tax planning, and entity consulting. Clients who would rather not sit down for an appointment can use the mail-in and drop-off program with an electronic tax organizer, with returns e-filed and documents exchanged through a secure portal. Spanish is spoken in the office. The practice puts its own claim as Sacramento's largest independent accounting firm, and describes reachability — someone answering the phone — as the reason it was built the way it was.
