Gus Quintana opened Quint Tax Services Humboldt in October 2023, after what he puts at more than 14 years working with clients in Los Angeles. He is a CTEC-licensed preparer and takes clients in Spanish as well as English. Much of the work is for small businesses around Southern Humboldt: a Venezuelan restaurant at Shelter Cove and a quick-lube shop in Garberville are both on the books, along with a bodywork studio down in Torrance. He registers corporations, LLCs and partnerships for owners just starting out, then often stays on to keep the books and run payroll, and sits down with business clients to plan around tax burden and growth. Appointments are booked through an online scheduler. In 2024 the office moved downstairs to a ground-floor space behind the hardware store at Whitethorn Construction.
