Cynthia Venkler graduated from Penn State in accounting in 1988, took her CPA license in North Carolina in 1991, and spent her early career in the audit departments of big 8 firms, working on banks, construction companies, car dealerships and nonprofits. She founded Your Accountant My Accountant in 1994. The firm now runs from Panama City Beach with clients and staff located nationwide, and Mark Jackson, a Faulkner University business graduate, joined as chief operating officer in August 2022.

Alongside the accountants and bookkeepers are retired CPAs and EAs. Work spans 1040s with rental real estate, self-employment and retirement income through partnership and corporate returns and 1099s, with bookkeeping kept on QuickBooks, QBO or Xero and reports issued monthly, quarterly or annually as agreed; on-site work is offered where a client wants a back office rather than an outside preparer. Real estate, hospitality, construction, tourist attractions and transportation recur among the clients. Exits, business transitions and the question of adding a partner are a distinct strand of the consulting work.
