Founded by Violet Clemons, who still runs it as CEO, Violets Office takes over the back office for small businesses: bookkeeping, bill pay, payroll, account reconciliation and monthly reporting, all maintained inside a QuickBooks account the practice sets up and keeps. Clients gather their bills and receipts and send them in by email or regular mail; reports come back weekly and monthly online. A free half-hour consultation, in person or by teleconference, starts the relationship by looking at the business and whatever accounting is already in place. Work follows GAAP. Alongside the Eagle, Idaho base there are offices in South Jordan, Utah and Henderson, Nevada.

Senior accounting associate Jodi holds an accounting degree from Stevens Henagar College, spent over eleven years in a family construction business, carries Intuit's top ProAdvisor recognition, and coaches the team and clients through QuickBooks. Clemons built the practice partly to offer part-time professional work to women staying in the workforce.
