The bookkeeping side of this practice runs on QuickBooks, which the firm uses in its own offices and recommends to clients, and much of the work is done remotely — records are accessed online, and the firm says it has clients across the country who rarely need to visit. Day-to-day work covers monthly financial statements, accounts payable and receivable, budgeting and cash flow, payroll, and sales tax reporting. Beyond that, its accountants prepare financial statements and tax returns, act as outsourced CFOs for forecasting and reporting, and are brought in for one-off events such as mergers, acquisitions or the sale of property. The firm also audits the work of in-house bookkeepers on a regular basis, and offers tax preparation with an eye to planning for the following year.
