Mora Chapman CPAs

Alison Mora bought the tax and bookkeeping practice in 2015 alongside her wife and business partner, Sarene Chapman, and the two rebuilt it as Mora Chapman CPAs. Mora began her accounting career in 2005 after graduating from Chico State University, spent her first ten years as a CPA at small, medium and large firms, and earned a Master of Science in Taxation from Golden Gate University while working full-time. She grew up in Yuba City, where her father ran his own business for more than 30 years.

The work centers on the taxation of individuals, small businesses and their owners, including partnership and corporate returns, fiduciary and gift tax returns, out-of-state filings, and representation in tax audits. Bookkeeping runs from reconciliations and 1099 filing to sales tax assistance, on-site or remote, and some clients hand over the whole function while others keep it and send only the awkward parts. Professional services, construction, retail, real estate and insurance clients are all on the books.
