Rillet Review: The AI-Native ERP Aiming at NetSuite
Rillet is an AI-native ERP for mid-market, enterprise and public-company finance teams. What it automates, how it is priced, and when it beats NetSuite.

Rillet is an accounting system and ERP for companies that have outgrown QuickBooks and would otherwise be shopping for NetSuite or Sage Intacct. It was built from scratch around automation: revenue recognition, journal entries and reconciliations run from integrations rather than spreadsheets, and an AI assistant called Aura sits across the ledger.
It has grown quickly. Rillet emerged from stealth in 2024 and says it has raised over $200 million from Sequoia, Andreessen Horowitz and ICONIQ, most recently a $100 million Series C at a $1 billion valuation reported by TechCrunch in August 2026. It reports more than 600 customers, and while many are venture-backed software companies, the published list also includes Sotheby’s, Kickstarter and Foursquare. Rillet says three of its customers are publicly traded.
The short version: Rillet is a serious option for a company with subscription or usage revenue, a small finance team and a need for fast, auditable closes, from mid-market up to public companies. It is not built for inventory, manufacturing or project-heavy services businesses, and like most systems at this level it is priced by quote.

What Rillet Does
General ledger and close
Rillet’s core is a general ledger with accounts payable, accounts receivable and bank reconciliation. The emphasis is on removing manual journal entries: data from billing, payroll and spend systems flows in through native integrations, and entries are generated from it rather than keyed by hand. Close management tools track the checklist and reconciliations, and reporting supports different GAAP presentations without rebuilding reports.
Revenue recognition
This is where Rillet is strongest. Subscription and usage-based revenue, contract modifications and mixed billing models are recognized automatically under ASC 606 from billing and CRM data, with an advanced module for more complex arrangements. For a SaaS company, revenue recognition is usually the thing that forces the move off QuickBooks, and it is often run in spreadsheets even after a company buys NetSuite.
Multi-entity and consolidation
Rillet supports multiple entities with consolidation, including intercompany eliminations and currency translation adjustments, which matters for companies that have added a foreign subsidiary or a holding structure after fundraising.
Aura
Aura is Rillet’s AI assistant. It answers questions about the ledger, drafts analysis and helps with close tasks. The company’s broader positioning is that AI should do the routine accounting work while accountants review it.
Controls and audit evidence
Rillet documents its controls in more detail than most of this category. It holds SOC 1 Type II and SOC 2 Type II reports, audited annually by a third party and, in its words, available for review. Roles are three-tiered with view-only access, permission changes take effect immediately with full audit history, periods and subledgers lock by entity with every lock logged, and approvals can be routed by materiality, for example journal entries over $50,000 to a controller and over $500,000 to a CFO. Rillet claims 100% of AI actions are logged and that nothing the AI proposes posts without approval. For a company heading into an audit or toward ICFR obligations, that documentation is part of what it is selling.
Rillet Pricing
Rillet does not publish a price list. It does publish the pricing model, which is more than most of its competitors do: in its own words, it “does not charge per seat or based on revenue”, and pricing is “based on the features you use and your complexity”. Role-based access carries no seat limits. The one dollar figure Rillet publishes anywhere is an implementation range of $10,000 to $30,000, on its own NetSuite comparison page, so treat it as the vendor’s claim about itself.
Beyond that, buyers request a demo and receive a quote, which is standard in this part of the market. NetSuite and Sage Intacct are also sold by quote. When comparing, ask for the full first-year cost, including implementation, data migration and any per-module fees, not just the annual license. There is no free trial or free plan; Rillet offers a public demo instead.
Rillet also has a partner program for accounting firms, and says it has partnerships with EY, KPMG and RSM, including a dedicated EY alliance.
Who Rillet Is For
Rillet fits best when:
- Revenue is subscription or usage-based, and revenue recognition is currently a spreadsheet.
- The company is scaling quickly after a funding round and expects an audit.
- The finance team is small and wants automation rather than more headcount.
- Billing runs through Stripe and the CRM is Salesforce or HubSpot.
Limitations
Narrow industry focus. Rillet is designed around software and services revenue. It has no inventory, manufacturing or warehouse functionality, so product companies should look at NetSuite, Acumatica or an industry ERP.
No published prices. The model is published and the implementation range is not, beyond Rillet’s own $10,000 to $30,000 figure, so there is still no way to budget the subscription without a sales conversation. Get competing quotes.
Young product and ecosystem. Rillet is growing fast, but the pool of implementation partners, consultants and accountants who know it is much smaller than NetSuite’s. Its EY, KPMG and RSM partnerships take some of the edge off that, and Rillet says implementations are run by its own CPA-led team rather than handed to a system integrator. Still worth asking who supports you after go-live.
Overkill for small businesses. A company with simple books and one entity will pay for capability it does not use. Tools such as Digits or QuickBooks Online are a better fit below that point.
How Rillet Compares
- NetSuite: the incumbent choice for scaling companies, with far broader modules (inventory, projects, e-commerce) and a large partner network, but heavier to implement and often supplemented with spreadsheets for revenue recognition.
- Sage Intacct: strong multi-entity accounting and dimensional reporting, popular with accountants and nonprofits.
- Campfire: the most direct AI-native competitor, aimed at the same venture-backed SaaS and AI companies.
- Digits: AI-native too, but aimed at smaller businesses replacing QuickBooks rather than NetSuite.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is Rillet an ERP?
Rillet describes itself as an AI-native ERP. In practice it covers the financial core: general ledger, AR, AP, revenue recognition, consolidation and close. It does not include inventory or manufacturing.
How much does Rillet cost?
Rillet publishes no prices, only its pricing model: charges are based on the features you use and your complexity, not on seats or revenue. It puts its own implementation cost at $10,000 to $30,000. Request a demo and ask for total first-year cost including implementation.
Can Rillet replace NetSuite?
For a SaaS or services company using NetSuite mainly as a general ledger with revenue recognition, yes. That is the switch Rillet is built for. For companies relying on NetSuite’s inventory, supply chain or e-commerce modules, no.
